We are one of the first BIA’s in Canada to offer an e-commerce marketplace for our members. Online shopping has increasingly become a convenient way to access products and services. The BIA is happy to offer this platform to our members.
International Village BIA is the historic centre of four of Hamilton’s oldest neighbourhoods, Beasley, Stinson, Corktown, and Landsdale, with over 24,000 residents living nearby. New developments are adding to the vitality and diversity of each neighbourhood, with 4000 new residential units planned or under construction in the immediate area.
Hamilton boasts the country’s most diversified economy. Downtown Hamilton remains the economic centre of the city. With 25,000 daytime workers visiting the core each day, there are numerous opportunities for small businesses to appeal to new customers within a short walking distance.
We are Hamilton’s first BIA, home to a spirited, attractive, and creative community. We offer a unique and vibrant mix of businesses. #TheVillage in your downtown.
Our board meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise posted). Feel free to contact Susie if you are interested in sitting in on one of the meetings.
Business Improvement Areas promote, manage, and advocate on behalf of their membership, sharing information about its special attributes and creating a sense of place for all visitors and residents in the area. Beyond that, the BIA communicates directly with the City of Hamilton, the Hamilton Police Service, and other stakeholders to promote the interests of the whole area.
